In between client commissions, I always make time for personal work. It's where I can play, experiment and follow ideas sparked by the things I encounter out in the world, without the constraints of a brief or deadline.
Over the past few years, these self-initiated projects have become an important part of developing my visual language as a digital collage artist. By blending analogue textures, hand-crafted assets and scanned materials with digital composition and animation, I've built a style that feels bold, graphic and tactile all at once. There's often a playful, almost childlike quality to my work, where curiosity, spontaneity and happy accidents are just as important as careful composition.
This small selection of personal projects demonstrates the versatility of that approach, spanning everything from framed art prints to editorial illustration, publishing, branding and commercial campaigns. Many of the ideas and techniques first explored here have gone on to influence my commissioned work, making personal experimentation an essential part of my creative process.
If you think my collage illustration or animation style would be a good fit for an upcoming project, I'd love to hear from you.
